New Grateful Dead Doc on Amazon Prime. Really epic. Four hours long and tons of cool shit.

Never was a crazy dead head, only 15 when Garcia died, but for some reason when I smoke this band makes a lot of sense. Anyways I was partaking while I watched and thought it was great, check it out.

Caught Dead and Company a couple of weeks ago. First Dead show. By all accounts, they are much tighter now, with Maher.

Show was great. Damn near road tripped it to the Hollywood Bowl with some deadheads. My better judgement took over. LOL

I really loved the doc. Anyone else a little annoyed that the end credits are over 7 minutes long? They really pad the total time.

Watching it has got me back on a Dead listening jag lately. I've been relistening to classic shows and oh boy, some of them are straight fire.

I like how the music played at the credits, what kinda bummed me was it would stop and there would be silence for like 5 minutes. They could've put even more music in there

I got the Europe '72 album, July 1978 complete recordings, June 20 1974 Atlanta ( Wall of Sound). All fantastic. Any other recommendations?

Manor Downs 77, Cornell 77, 6/20/91( It was released as part of the "A Live One" series by the Grateful Dead) and Dozin' at the Knick.

Honestly, the vocals in the band peaked in the late 70s. Jerry's voice (and memory for lyrics) is pretty shot by the time the 90s rolled around. That being said, I really enjoy 2 "eras" of the Dead the most. The first is the 90-91 period when Bruce Hornsby joined as an official member of the band. He really brought out the best in Jerry and woke the band up musically to a high degree. The other is the late 60s when Pigpen was at his peak and they were playing Dark Star > St. Stephen > The Eleven > Turn on your Lovelight every night.

The last few that I've been really blown away by were:
10/26/89 - vicious, scary Dark Star
6/23/74 - Spanish Jam > U.S. Blues
8/2/68
12/26/79 Dick's Picks 5 - Caution jam > He's Gone > Other One is a spectacular piece of music
10/27/79 Cape Cod - EPIC show, Dancing > Franklin's Tower!

My next listening will probably be the 1972 Creamery Benefit, 8/27/72, a truly psychedelic affair.
