Common Law

Anyone watching this? It doesn't look groundbreaking, but might have some decent comedy.

I DVR'd it. We'll see how it goes.

Like it so far. Nothing earth shattering, but it's about as good as the rest of USA's fare. The only shows on that network that I don't at least occasionally watch at this point are Royal Pains and Necessary Roughness (or whatever the chick shrink show is called).

Royal Pains is real bad. Covert Affairs is not good. Necessary Roughness is bad.

But I'm a huge fan of White Collar and Burn Notice. Seems to me it is boom or bust with USA.

White Collar's my favorite on the network, followed by Psych. I like Burn Notice although I'm not a big fan of either Jeffrey Donovan or Gabrielle Anwar (or Sharon Gless come to think of it - hate that character). I actually do like Covert Affairs although I thought aside from a couple of good episodes that the second season seemed like a big step-down from the first. I sat through an episode or two of In Plain Sight, thought it was awful. Royal Pains is a medical show, and I just don't watch medical shows. And Necessary Roughness doesn't interest me at all. Oh, there's one more: I've recently watched a couple of episodes of Fairly Legal (stuck at work, nothing else on...), which I thought looked awful but was surprisingly not.

I forgot about Psych. I just can't get into that show. I'll try to watch a few episodes and they are just horribly disappointing.

LOL @ In Plain Sight. I have forced that from my mind. God damn that show is abysmal.

I'll have to give Fairly Legal a shake. That chick is epic hot. That's all I know about it.

I tried to get into Necessary Roughness. And it is just weak.

You don't like Donovan's character? I'm a huge fan of that show.

Psych is what it is. A quirky, family friendly, crime mystery show. It's entertaining enough, as long as you can take the goofiness lightly.

The character's cool, but Donovan's acting isn't all that great.

Maybe I have no vision, but I'm not really sure how he is deficient.

Hasn't really shown that he can portray anything with any kind of depth or emotion. He's got one mode, and that's all he does. Plus when he does different accents, they're bad to the point of being funny. Just not a very strong actor.

Don't get me wrong. I like the show, but he's not really a selling point to me. I like the ongoing storyline and Bruce Campbell, basically. My main beef is really that I wish we saw less of Michael's mom, although I do think they fleshed her character out a little bit by getting into the abuse by Michael's dad and having her get involved directly in some of the cases, instead of just having her around to whine and smoke.

Isn't that on TNT or something like that?

Could be. Maybe USA is just replaying. Whatever channel it is native to, it is still an awful show.

Eh. I don't know. Maybe he's not a very good actor, but I guess I think it works with the show.

But I think some of his smart ass lines are hilarious. That and when he played that dorky chemist as his cover was a riot. Anyway, I don't see him as detrimental to the show. The mom though, was really poorly done for a couple seasons. They've come around with her, but I agree. She was horrible for a long time.

I watched the first two episodes. It isn't terribly deep, but the humor is good enough to keep watching.

I did enjoy it. It was certainly entertaining.
