Sorry to hear that. I have had to put a few dogs down over the years because cancer and it's never easy. I hope you get to spend plenty of time with your little guy over the next several months.

We have had to put three pets down in one years time now. They were like our kids to us... so difficult to do when the time comes. Sorry to hear this...

I am sorry as well, they are like kids. They depend on us to do everything for them and they provide nothing but unconditional love and loyalty.

Best to you Reroka. That's a sweet looking pup, can imagine how he'll be missed someday. Meanwhile, happy you still have some time left.
Best to everyone else here that's lost an animal recently. Such a hard thing. |

Shitty situation, but I would probably just go ahead and put him down now. Whatever you decide to do, good luck. Losing a pet always sucks ass. |

As someone who had a dog with bone cancer, just put the dog down. Don’t put the dog through an amputation, painful recuperation and an aggressive cancer on top of it. Sorry to be blunt.

I'm sorry to hear this. Lost one of my pets about a year ago and it really is just devastating whenever something like this happens.
I also totally understand the advice to put him down, but I will also just say, you never quite know what the future may hold. My dad got diagnosed with a serious, fast spreading form of cancer at the beginning of this year and (after a major surgery and a long run of difficult treatment), I'm currently sitting in Mexico with him cancer-free (for now) on a beach. No one would have predicted or expected this six months ago for sure, but here we are. I am hoping for the best for you and him. |

So sorry about your Pup…I had to put the one of our dogs down this October… Sometimes it’s better because they seem to hang on just for their family… Good luck and prayers sent…

Yeah in the end it's your decision but adding an amputation to the poor dogs end of life sounds awful. Maybe just some strong pain meds from the vet until it's time would be best? Either way, sorry to hear about this. Its the worst when it's time.

Right now he is not sick, he is not in pain. It just does not feel right putting him to sleep just because of the cancer DX. My wife and I are going to be watching him very carefully, spoil him as much as we can, get tons of pictures, take him to the beach, and when the time comes to put him to sleep I will make that call. |
