Part of me says that I hate the formula of automatically bringing in the closer in the 9th inning. Would have been nice to send Kelvin Herrera back out for the 9th inning. If you keep changing pitchers when everybody is pitching well, eventually you're going to put in a pitcher who won't. Mendoza, Crow and Herrera all pitched well.
But then I remember the last Royals manager who deviated from the standard closer formula was Trey ****ing Hillman, the idiot who destroyed Gil Meche's arm. |
