I personally like where the K and Arrowhead is located at, because other than trying to get in and out is a pain at times (this is more of a parking Nazi/stadium layout issue), I like it that it's close to I-70 or I-435. I just wish the Chiefs/Royals/Jackson County would had made some improvements on getting in/out from the stadium more manageable.

But on the other hand, I been through worse. I went to the Fiesta Bowl in Arizona last year, it took me a hour and a 1/2 to get out of the ****ing parking lot. That was poorly managed.
I think Arrowhead is fine, but I think when they revamped the K and Arrowhead, the K should have moved to the downtown area. There's a LOT just south of I-670 where a stadium could have really helped the downtown prosper. Simply said, baseball really helps a downtown bar district with their many many games.

I would have gone to many many more games if they were downtown. Especially the businessman specials.

I understand, but the infrastructure around downtown is very poor, and east of I-670/I-70 is a very highly questionable neighborhood, from my own experience, but everybody is entitled to their opinions.

But it's pretty much pointless at this point since I believe the Royals/Chiefs are locked in their lease until 2031, if I am not mistaken.

Yep the infrastructure is poor. There has been a couple times leaving concerts at Sprint Center that I have been shot out in that direction east of 1-670. I know my way around decent enough in KC its not that big of a deal, but somebody who doesn't yikes. Of course the same thing can happen at the Sports Complex as well.

Agreed, and I know my way around here too as well. If KC ever get to the point of a downtown stadium, they really need to make major, and I mean MAJOR highway/road improvements first, combined with a rail system and public transit, to make things work.

I drive through 169 Highway to Broadway, and if it's around 5:45 in the morning, it's not too bad to get to Broadway all the way down to Pennway. But if it's like 7:15 in the morning, it takes longer because it's backed up pretty rough on 169. And if there was a car accident/breakdown on 169, you're ****ed, because there's no shoulder for the car to pull off.

And I hate, hate, hate the fact that there has to be a damn car parked on the right side on Broadway, going to work or leaving from work, which impedes traffic flow....

Point well taken, but I've been working downtown since 2002 and it's a LOT better. Had the stadium gone there, it would have done all the more to force the area to get better. East of downtown is indeed uncool, but there's only one way to make it better, and that's to raise property value and force them out.

But you're right, at this point it's pointless. The opportunity was missed and will hurt the city and the Royals for decades to come.

Not to mention, the hundreds, if not thousands, who can drink....hop on a trolley for the game...drink.....hop on a trolley home.....and not put people's lives at risk.

When I was in KC for the raiders game, I literally ran to my car to get a jump on what was surely highways full of inebriated drivers.

That's not to say it cant happen in a downtown stadium setting......but at least you got options if mass transit is done right.
I dont know if its different with you weird Californians, but no one in the midwest wants to use damned public transportation.

Also, no matter what you say, the BEST you can do is to be only slightly more inconvenient than the current location instead of massively more inconvenient. You will never do better than the current in and out quick location, and hardly anyone gives a damn about eating at a restaurant after the game. I'll eat at the game if I'm hungry.

We are spoiled with great access, especially to games at the K. Sprint Center events downtown are a cluster. Without major and highly costly infrastructure improvements downtown, a downtown baseball stadium is a non starter.
