The "buy shit you already know isn't going to be good" question is a laugher. I just bought this god awful grindcore album just because it was on "cop splatter" vinyl and was limited to 50.

I checked that one off because I wouldn't be caught dead running my guitar through a solid state amp back in the day.

Yeah, but my point was an amp is an amp and a speaker is a speaker. About as dumb as asking if you own a set of blu-ray speakers.

And my music snobbery was sharply lowered by all the concert questions.

I'm much more of a snob in terms of high quality recordings, good mastering, and a quality, dialed-in rig.

Still buy SACDs, still will buy anything off the Dorian label I can find. Absolutely!!! hate the loudness wars.

I meant 'an amp is an amp' as 'an amp is not a speaker,' not 'all amps are the same.'

I've had Sony ES solid state forever, but I had a roommate with a tube amp and magneplanar speakers in college.
