Successful by my standards? No. Successful by the Chiefs front office standards? We'll see.

Of course he will have a good season. It won't be good enough for us, but I'm sure it will be good enough for Pioli.
I would give anything for us to just cut Cassel and start Quinn or Stanzi. If neither of them are the long-term answer, then we will be drafting high enough to pick one of the top QB prospects in 2013. |

I'm always an optimist this time of year....

As long as Charles, Hillis, Bowe, and Moeaki stay healthy, he'll probably have a "good" season if you're going by Matt Cassel standards.
If he has to carry the team on his shoulders, he will fail miserably. |

I suspect he will not just have a "okay" season, I think he will have a damn good season. His td/int numbers will be close to the '10 season. He will have more yards while having less td's(Charles, Hillis and Gray will score alot more), but his int's will be up. I predict that we make it to the second round in the playoffs and lose by 7.
and it is so........... |

I think he will be mediocre. If he fails to be mediocre with the supporting cast he will have this year, then he is probably missing his arms, legs, eyeballs, ears, head and penis. Then again, he just may be missing those things.

I think Cassel is every bit as good as Jake Plummer was. If the Chiefs have a good running game Cassel should have a year comparable to his Pro Bowl season.

If everything on paper even comes close to its potential, he's going to have a career year... its all tee'd just for him.
And thats going to be good enough for a possible playoff win, but beyond that, as the defenses get better, i predict fail... good enough to break your heart. |

I posted this a lot last off season. The best QB's in the league average right around 14 INT's a season. AVERAGE! I'll be shocked if he duplicates his 2010 "7" Int season, because for one Weis had him throw the ball away as soon as anything went south on any given play. And two, for Cassel to AVERAGE 14 INT's like the big boys do, we are looking a a pretty high total in that column for him sometime soon.
Thing is, the good QB 's are good enough to overcome thier INT's. Cassel? We will see I suppose, but I haqve my doubts. Not from a guy who is 3:16. Last edited by Coogs; 06-04-2012 at 08:01 PM.. |

With Hillis and Charles coming back,I think that will take the pressure off him.

He has ZERO excuses this season to not play at a high level (don't think he will ever be elite)
Upgraded Oline, 3 solid WR's, upgraded TE's with Boss and Moeaki back, deadly running game, solid/potential damn good Defense, 4th place schedule, full OTA's...if he doesn't earn his paycheck this season, he better be gone... |
