Alex Smith being shopped around?

I was listening to 610 on the radio this morning and they were gushing over PMII. They were mentioning that the Chiefs were possibly entertaining AS to Jacksonville because of their confidence in PHII. They said there were trade rumors yesterday regarding this situation so I thought I'd come on here and find something but... NOTHING!

You guys heard anything?
link if so?

They also played a Mike Vick interview of him talking about PMII and Vick spoke highly of him as well. I think the interview clip was of Vick on the Cowherd show.

Before Mahomes, Alex was playing to not lose games.

Now, with Mahomes, he's playing to not lose his job.

Well I think there is a combination of both. I believe this is a better team because the guys we drafted are getting better and we have more talent. Just Tyreek Hill presence makes this a better team because he opens up all other options in both the running and passing game. Alex does have a bottle rocket up his ass so he isn't no longer holding the team back unless he starts to force it and then revert to his old self because he doesn't want to turn the ball over.

Alex Smith has reborn confidence in himself that wasn't there last year. He only had that confidence when he had to compete against Keapercrap.

The previous 4 years you could ask the same questions couldn't you? Mahomes is the independent variable in this.

True. I HAVE been forced to watch Smith play QB for the Chiefs going on five years now; absolutely one and the same.

And he'll do jack and shit about it because his talent level is inferior. Always has been.

Chiefs won't trade him now that they think they can win with Alex and then continue success with Patrick Mahomes II for years to come. There is no hurry in his time frame but I'm still hoping the sooner the better.

I still think Alex Smith has a lot to prove before I'm going be convinced but he is a late bloomer and Andy Reid maybe a miracle worker with him as the QB Whisperer after all.
Well said

The problem with that 24 point cutoff is it doesn't account for times when smith lost to a team scoring over 24 points while his team ALSO scored over 24 points.

His record definitely dips hard when scores go up, but using that data like that suggests he is incapable of scoring over 24. It's just not a great stat (/!; there are plenty of great stats to use for essentially the same point).

Ok, I see what you mean...yeah, that stat would be more credible if it were more in depth to cover what you are saying.

BINGO! Pro Bowl this year. I just envision him having a great year, a 3 year extension and easing PM in next year sharing time with Alex.

Let's see what happens in the Regular Season, and see if ole Alex will continue his conservative afraid to make a mistake when the bullets fly.
