and I'm pretty sure every PG/SG in the NBA (that is black for the record) could catch a 60 yard bomb...

anyone that is good enough to play in the NBA that is an NBA skill player (as opposed to a Brian Scalabrine) IS ****ING ATHLETIC ENOUGH TO CATCH A ****ING FOOTBALL.

I'M 100% SURE ABOUT THAT

God I ****ing love football...but it is the ****ing easiest sport to play. All football takes is athletic ability. Here Jamaal...RUN.

YO RANDY...RUN FAST...WE'RE GONNA THROW YOU THE BALL...YOUR OBJECTIVE: CATCH IT

PRETTY SURE DERRICK ROSE, LEBRON JAMES, CHRIS PAUL, ETC...COULD HANDLE THAT.

Good to see the argument has switched from that abortion of a "sport" golf to real athlete talk.

If Jimmy f'n Graham can walk onto an NFL field and dominate, I shudder to think what LeBron could do.

Again, it's quite simple:

1) Guaranteed contracts
2) More money
3) MUCH longer careers
4) no major long term health risks

If LeBron James could only make $5M per year playing in the NBA but could make $50M per year in the NFL...

GUESS WHAT

LEBRON AND THE BEST NBA ATHLETES WOULD PLAY IN THE NFL

why?

BECAUSE THE NBA HAS BETTER ATHLETES THAN THE NFL. If Terrell Owens or Randy Moss were ever good enough to play in the NBA at any point in there lives...they would have played in the NBA. The fact of the matter is...when they were younger they excelled more at football and that was the path they had to take to make a living. If at any point they were Mr. Basketballs or top tier division 1 talent...

they would have focused on basketball and not football

that's how it works

I realize there are certain dipshits who have no athletic ability on this site that don't realize this...

but there is no ****ing way a Derrick Rose...who has more quickness and agility than anyone in the NFL...couldn't have played in the NFL if there was a reason for him to play in the NFL and not in the NBA.

but there is, and I repeat again, NO REASON IN THE WORLD TO PLAY IN THE NFL WHEN YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO PLAY IN THE NBA.

The last guy on the bench makes more money than 90% of the players in the NFL and do it while not burning tens of years off of their lives.
Your hypothesis that "The best black player play in the NBA" is the problem.
You continue to use the best athletes in the NBA, and compare them to average NFL players. The last guy on the bench? Are you really gonna argue that Brian ****ing Scalabrine could play in the NFL, if not for the NBA money? That Khalid El Amin had NFL talent as an NBA PG? Baron Davis?
I grant that Lebron, MJ, and maybe a handful of other players would have been, at worst, decent NFL players. But I'd bet you could find just as many (or more) NFL players who would be decent in the NBA, but play football for a slew of reasons other than "they aren't athletic enough."

Have you ever seen either player run full speed for 60 yds, change direction at full speed, tracka ball in the air, catch the ball while running full speed, and then avoid full grown men hell bent on crushing them? Didn't think so.

That's a lot worse than 50" and 4.4. And your guessing at the 40. If your going to argue a stupid point at least be honest and leave the exaggerations out of it.

That's ridiculous. You aren't even trying to make sense at this point.

I'm arguing a stupid point?

how does one guard LeBron James in the NFL?

do you really think LeBron James doesn't have the athletic ability to catch a deep pass?

do you really think LeBron James wouldn't have the mental part of the game down WHEN DESEAN JACKSON GETS PAID TO PLAY IN THE NFL?
