Offseason Thread: What words do you wish had a larger role in today's vernacular?

It's the offseason.

The offseason sucks.

Let's talk about words that kick ass that we don't use enough. I'll start.

Fisticuffs
Fisticuffs is a hell of a word. It rolls right off your tongue. And it sounds cool as hell. But the real reason it needs to be used is there is a massive difference between 2 gentlemen settling a disagreement with fisticuffs and a knock down drag out fight.

Rubbish
Our dorky big brothers across the pond don't **** it all up. Rubbish is a great word. You can tell me virtually any joke and if you work "rubbish" in there I'll probably laugh. Plus, if you use rubbish reguarly in regards to general trash/garbage, it saves the word "Trash" for trailer trash types. Packs more punch that way.

What do you have?

Let's start a grass roots movement to change our language for the better.

Savvy. But not in the shrewd sense. In the verb/pirate sense. But only if I could sound like Johnny Depp when I said it.

Hoedowns are more structured dances to mountain music.
Hootenannies are any boisterous get together.

Kind of like the difference between a party and a disco.

Close enough.

A hoedown is a community social event featuring organized square dancing, whereas a hootenanny is a community social event stressing the playing of musical instruments (such as the fiddle, guitar, or piano), though dancing can also occur.1
