Do you hate Mike Thompson (weathermen)?

I am trying to watch American Idol tonight, and that camera attention grabbing Mike Thompson keeps interupting every 2 minutes to tell me about a storm on the missouri and Iowa border! Seriously, he must have cut in 5 times somtimes talking for like 15 minutes at a time just babbaling about this stupid storm. He even had the balls to cut in at the end so he could screw up the end of the show. I was so pissed. I was so glad the Bachelor was on channel 12 cause Busby is nice enough to flash in accross the bottom instead of cutting in to the show.

Unless it is an emergency, it should be against the law to cut into a show. I just feel they could wait to tell us about a bad widdle thunder storm during their own segment during the news.
I also hate it when they have that storm county tracker on the side of the tv. No sane person could possably know what the hell this thing even is trying to represent, yet it is this annoying blob blocking everything on the right of my TV.

I am forced to watch a stupid show once in a while because of my woman...but I sure never avoid taking a leak if the urge strikes while Its on.

The wife likes for me to be right next to her at night watching tv. She makes a nice dinner and it is our "away time". We don't talk on the phone or answer the door when our shows are on. Ok, if it is a true emergency then I really do understand, I wasn't really trying to belittle your family or anything. It is just that it wasn't bad at all in Lee's Summit, and I don't want to hear about storms in other areas. I know lives are more important, I just wanted to see the show. I think they could inform people without cutting in for an hour.

Yeah I also think a TV show with the caliber of AI is way more important than someone being notified of a possible tornado and perhaps losing some critical time to take cover and perhaps save a life.

There is always reruns for gay TV shows. You only got one shot when shit goes down in a situation like a tornado.

Mark M, I will mention a game I want every now and again for the PS2 and the wifey will buy it for me, but she hates it when I play it. I have to play it until I conquer it, then it rarely ever gets played agin. She got me Socom for Christmas, I was done with it in 2 days and haven't played it since.

She says quit playing the game and watch tv with me.

My wife will acually watch me play the games, mainly because she can't push all of the buttons herself ...

it's like she's playing it, but without the effort.

That, and when I'm playing Vice City, she helps me navigate, or with Gran Turismo (which I just got ... I know, I'm a bit behind the times) she lets me know if someone's catching up to me.

Of course, she then says "You took that corner like crap" which always helps ...

I like games like vice city. The only games she wants to play are the new packman and stuff like that. They really messed up a classic with the "new packman" if you ask me

when I was high school we had the Neilson ratings devise on our tv's. It sucked though cause my Dad made us put National Geographic on every tv. In high school that wasn't something I really enjoyed. Now, that I am older, it is a favorite of mine too.
My Dad would get mad though if we watched Fresh Prince, because he didn't like it and wanted more national geographic.

but, yes, when I watch tv, it is a "me time" and I don't like to be interupted. I also live the man show on comedy central, so does that balance the barbie shows?

I'm thinking it was more of a joke rant, which is why I've tried to diffuse some of the hostilities.

Of course, if he's really that into TV that severe weather, a phone call or visitor ticks him off that much, then there are issues there.
