We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

9/7: Toledo
9/21: @ Indiana
9/28: Arkansas State
10/5:@ Vanderbilt
10/12: @ Georgia
10/19:Florida
10/26: South Carolina

11/9: @ Kentucky

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

Nice win by Mizzou. Hopefully this is the beginning of some amazing games by DGB. It is good to see he dominates poor teams, but I really want to see him step up regularly in the big games. SC comes to mind.

I also learned something about Sam last night that I was surprised to hear.

Edit: I had heard he is gay a while back, but evidently he is very open about it around town. I'm proud of the guy if he is open and unafraid of how it may affect his future NFL career. Either way, he is a phenomenal football player, and I hope somehow he ends up on the Chiefs roster.

Ole Miss isnt going to be such a cakewalk. I hope that whomever will be QBing that game is going to show up.

Nice to see DGB emerging. I know today he was just raking against a team that had no answer for him, but getting him rolling again will really be helpful as we finish this run

I am guessing that the PowerMizzou people were doing it for attention.....the national radio guys I understand because they are licking their wounds about predicting MU would fall again this year and the fact that MU is making them look bad is making them pissed. (all you had to do was listen to Stinchcomb on the broadcast today and you can see that).....and I am guessing the poster on here you were talking about was "warpaint"

It's never safe to overlook anyone but we have seen MU slip on banana peels before.

The offense was efficient. It took advantage of the opportunities presented to it, and consequently hung a big number on a bad team. It didn't feel like it was ever in much of an actual rhythm, but it didn't really matter.

Front four got really good pressure today, but Steckel was often fitted for clown shoes. Kentucky's QB could not throw the ball more than five yards, yet we routinely got burned on screens (hello, South Carolina!!) in the second half. The interior lineman were especially bad in this regard.

Wilson made a great play on the strip, but he was constantly misdiagnosing the zone read, and/or getting beaten to the corner. He's a nice enough story, but just not a very good football player. He's the Mike Maslowski of Missouri.

ST were a roller coaster today. Two great plays and several "WTF?" plays.

The bye is coming at a good time.

That's awesome. Good for him. It doesn't surprise me that him being gay would play better in a room of 18-22 year olds. I'm sure it will hurt him WRT: NFL. Hopefully he has some teammates that can be advocates for him.

That was the first game I wasn't able to watch this season. (Missed work Monday - volunteered to work today to make up for it. Listened on the radio.)

Glad to see they took care of business. Love what DGB did. That WR group is big and talented. Sometimes I feel like we don't take full advantage of it.

I'm bummed there's no game next week, but the timing is pretty perfect. Franklin can get lots of work in, and hopefully DGB, Washington and Hansbrough will all be 100% in two weeks.

I'm excited. Between this and the Chiefs... it's been a crazy season.

Does Lee's commitment take Nile Sykes off the table? A guy with his size and intelligence would be a great fit in the middle, IMO.

If this rumor about Sam is true, I hope it doesn't affect him in the draft.

The guy's a great player... but there are a lot of Incognitos in NFL locker rooms.

Even if it's not true... it's gonna be an issue for him now.
