Revisionist History Question....
If I had a time machine, I would go back to 2006 or whenever it was that Green Bay was going to trade us 2 - 1sts or a 1st and a 3rd for Larry Johnson....
Anyone remember what that deal was? I am curious WHO we might have drafted with those picks... Also, while Im in my time machine... I would pay Jared Allen... and instead of Dorsey, I'd draft Ryan Clady. What revisionist history deals would you get done? |

I was never going to happen. The rumor was a 3rd round pick and it was patently false.

Funny thread because Dane--first to respond--would pick any rookie playing well right now with the third pick

I thought the big rumor was Dallas’ 2 first rounders?
Either way, I’d have traded LJ for whatever we could get before we re-signed him, and used the money to pay JA. Or done whatever we could have done to improve the defense in 2003. We were so close to being a championship team, and IMO could have gotten there if we didn’t nickel and dime the FA market with guys like McCleon, Holliday, Bell, etc. I also would have drafted more OLinemen when we still had a great line. Those guys would just be getting into their prime now when we need them the most.

Instead of waisting your time talking to people could you go back and distract Manning in 2003 on one of his TD passed, Kidnap the ref that did the 1997 playoff game, and accidentally land your time machine on the leg of kicker who shall not be named the day before the 1996 playoff game.

Hell if we're talking about going back and changing something, I would go back to 2005 and take Aaron Rodgers in the first round.

The most serious rumor I remember was Brandon Jacobs and the Giants' first in 2007.

I doubt we end up with Quinn. Herm was attached to HMS Croyle at that point. I think we probably go with Bowe with the first pick, and then probably take Ross or Staley with the original Bowe pick.
