What's the longest distance that you've run?

Any marathoners here? Anyone ever run the Leadville 100 Ultramarathon (100 miles at 10,000 feet) or another ultramarathon?

I'm pretty proud because I made it six miles on my jog today, which is the most I've done in about ten years. I braved two enraged golden retrievers along the route, but it was otherwise uneventful.

At my last match I wore a pedometer and at the end of the first half I ran a little over 3 miles. It doesn't seem like you're running that far when your playing but it's actually a good workout...

Last year I did the Vineman Triathlon "Barb's Race".... it's a women's only race where we swam 1.2 miles, biked 56 and ran 13.1. It was half the distance of the man's race but it sure felt good to finish and was a hell of a work out. I wish I could do it this year again but I'm definetely not prepared!!! hahah

The longest I ever ran was 10 miles. I had been in training to run a half marathon, but ended up being to late to enter. I was doing most of this running to try to impress this girl I liked, who was also my running partner. I ended up not getting the girl, and since then I haven't ran over four miles. I never did get how people enjoy running. I enjoy running while playing sports, but just running is pretty boring.

Do you ever try headphones? I just get in a state of mind where I'm forgetting I'm even running just listening to the music! But... I also believe running is therapeutical. When I have a headache .. I jog... cramps... I run... boyfriend cheats on me... I sprint!!! hahaha

When I was Junior in high school and had to jump over 3 fences and a nasty rot to escape the police.

I have no idea the actual distance but I'd guess about 2 city blocks....

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I ran a mile in HS, but I hate running just to run, or for time even. Don't mind running if a football, basketball, volleyball, tennis ball, racquet ball, frisbee, etc. is in the area, but running just to run, BLEEP THAT!

I ran cross country in high school, ran probably 50 miles a week during the season. Longest ever at one time was a half marathon.

I still run every now and then to keep in shape, but my knees and ankles are so jacked up from all that mileage in my youth that I can't do much more than about 4 miles now.

Mostly uphill too, I imagine.

I jogged over 10 miles when I was younger. I try to jog 3 miles daily but I find it a lot easier to fall off the wagon and not jog for a few weeks. I want to jog everyday but just don't have the will power.

When I was in high school I was on the cross country team. We had one workout each season where we would start out running half miles and work our way down very slowly to 100 yard sprints. By the time we were done we had run 15 miles or so. That wasn't even our hardest workout. We had one that we would take on a sledding hill called Woodpecker Hill that was about a 55 degree climb. We would take that hill 15 times. The ass muscles were tight for three days after that.
