This is a prime example why the new "normal" unemployment rate is going to be 6-7%, not the 3-4% that we have previously been used to. Low-income workers are going to be more content to just say fuck it and take unemployment for years on end instead of taking less to keep an undesirable job.
Our welfare system essentially incentivizes this attitude, and US taxpayers will pay for it. |
