If he won a playoff game with the Lions in 2013, I'd be far more interested in extending him. But to date, other than playing catch with Megatron, he hasn't shown much other than a propensity for injury and interceptions at inopportune moments. Matthew Stafford hasn't begun to show he's in the same league as a Matt Ryan. He's more akin to Josh Freeman than elite QB's. |

Right now? Hell no. He's had one good year.
Give any QB 727 attempts and it would be pathetic if they didn't have 5000 yards. He had 2 years left on his deal. I would have let at least this year play out before I even considered extending him. Like I said, the only reason he got the extension is not because he earned it, but because the Lions cap situation was so bad they pretty much HAD to.
