Stretches of 17-10 and 21-16 -- torpedoed by that wretched 4-19 trough.

Which was typical. All they had to do was to keep away from the long losing streaks, the long stretches of losing. Just flatten that curve out. Define a slump as, say, 9-14.

But nope, they had to go shit the bed like they always do. It's keeping them from being well over .500 and a game or two out of first.

Well, much like Pickett's Charge, looks like we'll get to the rock wall that is .500, wither and die.

We really needed to win this series. At least 3 of 4 against a piss poor Yankee team. They split with us with over $100 million in payroll on the DL. Pathetic.

Yes, exactly.

A -15 month is really tough to recover from unless you go on a similar hot streak to balance it out.

It's hard to see that with Davis in the rotation, but if they can get Duffy up and avoid injury, I could see a Shields/Santana/Duffy/Guthrie/Chen rotation leading them on a little streak.
