upclose of bevels before heat treat.
turned out ok, polished it and put an edge on. Rounded up some scrap wood for the handle. I cut the tang to short by about an inch but you wont be able to tell when the handle is drawn out. measure twice cut once.

rivets and epoxy. I have two options im thinking about. One is a two prong horn that i think i can cut away a section w/ a spur saw. The other is a chunk of cherry wood that from the grain i can split down and drawknife the shape. Gonna be acouple days. still pondering on it.
I did take acouple different saws to a whitetail shed to see what would & wouldnt work. seems like handsaws are more work but smoother and straighter cutting.

Do you have any stones to sharpen your blades with when you're finished?
I recommend these guys: http://www.hallsproedge.com/ I've been sharpening for a while now, and have gotten most of my stones from them. Always been quality. I have 5 different stones, and can put a razor edge on just about anything...

I put this 1st one behind the 8-ball cutting the tang short. I did get two sets of scales cut out. Jigged a mirror image to add length and make up for the short tang/handle. Turned out pretty good. Left the other set alone incase this set turns into a fiasco.
Suggestions for rivets? Anyone? I have a broken drill bit. I could get it soft, cut it and then mash it. Also have a shit tons of bolts, screws, pop rivets, nails, ect. Sketched out a tanto lastnight.
