I don't see it that way. Don't get me wrong. Do I want it to happen? No. I'd like to see this team get there someday. But if it did would I be crushed? Not one bit. I think another team would come here... Or I would just be wrong and could choose to pick another team to follow that cares more. |

This is a Kmart version of an NFL franchise, if they aren't making as much money as possible, it's because their product sucks. |

And in what way am I being "held captive"? Because I'm not idiotic enough to think that NFL franchises grow on trees and this small market town could easily get another one? I'm just as pissed at the Chiefs as anyone. But if my car gets dirty, I don't just throw it away and assume I'll be able to buy another one. |

It's clear we disagree that IF KC where to lose the Chiefs, they would ever get another franchise in our lifetimes. It's an opinion that neither one of us can prove. So why belabor the point? You would probably say "NFL franchises dont' grow on trees. And you'd be right." And I would point to you the Cleveland Browns. The point is this. In this hypotehtical, my view would be "meh. If that's what Clark would want, then go." I'm not entirely sure winning a SB is his #1 goal anyways and that's hard to admit. Furthermore, I think the city could get another team back in time. But if I'm wrong? Then I'm wrong and I choose another franchise to follow. In other words, I have options. What I meant by being held captive is for those fans (and maybe you're not in this place. If not, good for you.) who would view the team moving as the worse possible thing that could happen to us and thus we must keep filling up arrowhead, spending money to ensure they never leave. In other words, just more of the same and not having options. To me that's being held captive. |

Even if they had a good team, they couldn't maximize profits. The renovated Arrowhead doesn't have the same number of suites as other newer stadiums. And even with fewer suites, they can't sell them out because there's not enough people that can pay the price. There just aren't enough big companies based in KC anymore. And even the ones that are there are getting hit by the economy and regulatory environment.

Green Bay is also the hottest ticket in town, in that region....has been for decades. Green Bay is kinda the exception rather than the rule....which kinda makes that entire franchise/stadium unique.
WTF do the Chiefs have to offer? This isn't the 90's anymore.
