Yep, Alex Smith is here to stay.

Hard to swallow.

What a horrible draft. Glad I didn't stick around for the whole thing. I would have wasted valuable time. Reid is a complete moron. Never go all in on a guy like Alex Smith. Your offseason is a complete joke.

That's all

The comparisons to Trent Green are also ****ing stupid, because Trent Green was an accurate downfield passer, and was #2 in the NFL in passing yards.

Alex Smith will never even be top 10.

See how stupid you are?
The business is winning. Thats all that matters. Good oline, good running game, good defense, good special teams. ITs a winning formula. The Chiefs have surrounded alex smith with almost a carbon copy of the 2011 49ers. How you cant see this, should surprise me, it just doesnt. It really just doesnt.

Christ, the comparison is ****ing mind blowingly ignorant, but you dumb mother****ers will do anything to prop up this shithead.

Alex Smith doesn't even throw the ball down the field as much as Matt Cassel, but he's supposed to be Trent Green? How in the blue ****? Christ almighty.
Trent Green was not an accurate downfield passer, for the most part. The offense required him to hit his spots and he always hit his spots. And he didn't make bad decisions. But he wasn't a guy who hit players in stride. Too many times I saw a pass get thrown at a player's shoes instead of in his breadbasket. He didn't throw great out routes or throw accurate back shoulder throws. In fact, his stats would have been downright gaudy if he did.

He was an incredibly intelligent QB who knew where to throw the ball and could get it there.

That's so much bullshit.

Our defense is not nearly as good.

I do agree the offense is close, but this team is going to need to average 24 PPG to have a winning season.

Alex Smith has NEVER delivered that.

I have posted it before and I will post it again. The Chiefs are my dark horse. I think several here will be backtracking this season. Much like the posters who lost all sense of reality over Geno who was not even the best QB in a very weak class. The Chiefs have some some talent and will surprise IMO~

I'd take Green 8 days a week over Alex Smith. Green wasn't afraid to take chances and was a terrific progressions QB. But he wasn't that accurate a passer.

how do stats get more 'gaudy' than 4,600 yards, 66% completion, and 8.2 yards per pass (higher than any starting QB in 2013)?

elaborate

Alex Smith will never be Trent Green.

I think Green is a good comparison. Cerebral, not the strongest arm, but accurate. Smith has a lot more mobility though.

All that and a bag of chips gets you 18 TD and 3200 yards.

God damn that sounds EXACTLY like Trent Green!

Okay. Look CLay. you do realize that prior to the start of the 2011 season, that the 49ers defense, wasnt the 49ers defense? Do you see what im getting at?

We cut Clements, and brought in Carlos Rogers, who was GARBAGE with the redskins. Correct? Hi Sean Smith.

We signed Donte Whitner who was not even a thought at bringing back to Buffalo. Hi Dunta Robinson.

Our front 7 was okay, but people were FLABBERGASTED that we resigned Ray Mc to a 5 year 25 million dollar deal, and people were scared crapless that we just let aubryo franklin leave, because well, Isaac Soap was just mediocre.

See if this rings a bell. In 2010 we never blitzed. We were a base cover 4 team that rarely got pressure and our secondary got torched. How closely does that ring true about the chiefs last year?

The 49ers then brought in an attacking style defense with Vic Fangio, and WOW, ALL OF A SUDDEN, OUR DEFENSE DIDNT SUCK, even though, when you factor in that all we did to the defense really was make lateral moves with rogers, and whitner, and drafted aldon smith. Thats it.

I stated this too, that the new guy you brought in, is fundamentally different that crennel, and that pressure bursts pipes. You guys are going to unleash hali, and houston, and its going to improve your defense.

Thats what I mean.....The 49ers defense, that inserted also an unknown in Bowman, whitner and rogers, was helped tremendously by our pass rush.

Same will happen for the chiefs......I believe anyways.

i get hacked off whenever Green is brought into a discussion of game manager, leashed QBs...

Green ran the most complicated passing offense in the league, and he mastered it...it was an aggressive, down field offense

shit bag QBs like Alex Smith working under tight leashes from smart HCs, are given simple reads, half of the field to read, and instruction to bail on the play at the slightest distress...

it apples and oranges

You're an idiot.

The Chiefs don't have near the defensive line talent the 49ers do.

We also have huge question marks in the secondary.

So please, get ****ed.
