I honestly believe the fault lies more with Smith than Reid, Andy is trying to play to Smiths strengths with so many of those sideways calls that drive us all bonkers IMO

Do you recall a lack of chunk play attempts and/or completions when Foles was playing? I sure dont, he went downfield constantly

The fault still lies with Reid if that's the case, because he wanted Alex.

My guess is that he misjudged his ability to change Smiths playing style

No coach is perfect so I'm ok with that, if thats the case... at any rate, I sure like our chances of winning a Super Bowl with Reid a helluva lot more than with Smiff

Reid is great at scheming guys open, but he cant throw it to them

Sorry for the Navy reference, but it seems fitting.

The fault lies with Hunt being the captain of the ship who won't intervene, privately if need be, when he sees his XO, and his senior officers not fixing their department's problems.

I'm sure some might want to elevate Hunt to playing the part of an embarked, or shore-based, Admiral, but the analogy still fits.

And if he is doing something "in private", it's not working.

Those "sideways calls" have always been part of his offense, and the WCO it is based on.

Foles played 2 games. And missed on those short passes over an over. Dude can't throw a bubble screen accurately to save his life. Maybe that is why Andy abandoned them for the long passes that weren't as successful as you remember them.

I know the "sideways calls" are a part of the WCO, but Reid doesnt always use them as often as he does with Smith

And yes, Foles missed on several of his long attempts... but at least he ****ing tried them, and that alone has a positive effect on a defense

You're constant white knighting of Smiff has gotten old, real old

Off topic but since this is a Clay thread let's all just take a second to appreciate how ridiculously off target he was about Tyreek. I mean, you legitimately cannot be more wrong than Clay was on the situation.

I'm not white knighting him, I'm being rational and unemotional, while you guys are just emotional. You are letting your hatred of Smith blind your eyes so much you think Foles is a good QB and that Andy wouldn't be calling bubble screens if it weren't for smith. Did you watch the Eagles when Andy was coach there? Did you noticed how often he threw to Westbrook out of the backfield?

But not as wrong as he was about Reek. The only player I can remember him being so off base with was Sean Smith.

Dont preach at me from your bullshit high horse, I've watched that mother****er for 4 years now and thats MORE than enough time to come to the logical conclusion that his inherent limitations will keep us out of the big dance unless he has an All-Time type team around him

McNabbs worst season as an Eagle more than doubled Smiff in big plays... the guy simply isnt as good as you hoped, ****ing deal with it

That about sums it up. He claims to take time off and think about things after his team is raped. I think that's what he does, goes to the bank puts his red slippers on, counts the money and reminds himself that, "there's no smell like money, there's no smell like money", or that "a truckload of cash makes dry-anal pain go down."

Gets mad my ass! That man has no backbone, pride, self respect, or concern for his team's fans. He's all about the money and keeping the trust-fund life going.
