If we have a great draft....
So here's my question for the planet:
If we have a monster draft this year, and get the results that the Chiefs have been saying they want, and then in 2 years, maybe 3 we're a young and dominant team---would your opinion that Herm is an idiot change? If Herm gets younger, better players and wins a bunch of games once the team is rebuilt, would people no longer think of him as an idiot? |

This team could end up in the AFC Championship game THIS YEAR and people would be looking to draw and quarter him.

He's not a great gameday coach by any measure. Probably not even a good one.

nope. Jury is still out considering our decline OL., LJ out and KingCarl override on starting Brodie. Drafts will tell and that is 2-3 years out.

Under that scenario I would promote Herm to GM and hire a new coach. Herm's game day sideline coaching is not the best, no matter how much talent he brings in.

My opinion of Herman ****ing Edwards is based on the stupid shit he says, and the stupid things he does in game situations, so no, my opinion of him wouldn't change.

You know what I would of been happy with. Mind you I really have no problem with Herm and what he's trying to do. Where I have a problem is when he steps in and overrules what the offense is trying to do. Had it been me I would have found some way to keep Saunders running the offense with a nice raise. Got him the players he needs on the oline and WR. And given him the QB he needs to run his offense. And told Herm to concentrate on fixing the defense with Gunther. And demanded that Carl keep his ass in the office doing the paperwork.

I don't think Solari is ever going to be a good play-caller offensive coordinator. Solari's promotion was somewhat a company move and not a Herm move. If Gailey produces an offense that moves the ball and scores some points. You might have to conclude that Trent Green getting his bell rung in game 1 of the Herm era, Roaf retiring and an overall lack of talent, was not going to give Solari much of a chance to succeed. Especially since Solari may just not have the makeup for a good OC anyway.

The only way I can forgive the "offense scores too fast" statement is by backing it up by winnning a SB. Anything less and he just looks like a DA, IMO.

People will hate Herm until he wins the Super Bowl. That's the ONLY thing that will change the majority opinion.
We could lose by one point in the AFC Championship game and there would still be people ready to drive him out of town. They'd be saying "HERM IS HOLDING US BACK" etc etc etc.

There isn't a coach in the NFL that could have coached us into the playoffs last year.
Herm hatred is hilarious. |
