***OFFICIAL Lawn and Landscaping Thread***

So, who out there is obsessed with having green grass?

Are you installing a flowerbed and some shrubs?

Do you need a sprinkler system installed?

Do you just want to brag?

Let's talk about lawns in here.

If it wasn't for Clover, Crab Grass, Quack Grass and Creeping Charlie I wouldn't have any green at all.
I am terrible at lawn care. I have to mow about 1.5 Acres with a shitty rider that breaks all the time.
I would rather ride my motorcycle, camp, swim and boat then worry about it.
When I cut it, it looks ok to me.

I had some Vols in my yard once. Shot the ****ers dead. Damn Tennessee fans.

Yup. I grew up in the heat and humidity and loath it. Hell, it's one of the reasons you'll never see me return to any Central American country willingly! Not that at some point I won't trade-in the cool for heat, but for now if I never see another day over 75 in my life I'll be happy!

I like me some sauna action, but I like to be able to walk out of it when I feel like it. And walking 72 holes over a weekend with Monkey Butt being your best friend is just goofy!

Nope, I hate humidity!

Interesting concept with the old logs.

Also, I like the thick, deep green grass.

Oh I can guarantee that I'll never stop watering. I'll at least take a fine or two before I do. With the polar caps melting I plan to do my part to get the water inland and keep it here so the coasts don't sink.

Competition between species in a low nutrient environment also reduces the growth rate of my meadow, and the concominant need for frequent mowing. The economized mowing schedule reduces noise pollution in the neighborhood and saves me dozens of hours per year put to better use. I endorse this approach to any of you.

This is how to do it.

All of those things add character to a neighborhood.
