No way Jerruh goes into the season with those backups. He can be talked into Daniel. Get on the phone, Dorsey!

I thought Jerry traded for Weeden, but I guess it was a free agent signing. 2 years 1.23 million.
That's not exactly what I call a commitment. God, make this happen, Dorsey. For once, just make a ****ing roster move that doesn't leave us scratching our heads. Just once, perform a roster move that causes us to cheer and be proud of you as our GM. |

Why exactly would Dallas trade for Daniel?

So Jerry can't go into the season with Weeden and Caleb Hanie as backups, but we can go into the season with Bray and Murray as backups?

Do you think Brandon Weeden is a better option than Bray and Murray? Romo's injury issues are far more significant than Smith's as well.

In what world do we live in where a former 1st round QB is a worse option and a 5th round rookie and undrafted QB?

2. Bray and Murray are unknowns. We know what Weeden and Hanie are. 3. Let's not act like we've got great insurance with Chase Daniel as our backup, either. Daniel doesn't exactly have all this experience that will ensure we'll be fine if Alex goes down. I mean, at least Green Bay knew that Matt Flynn looked great in practice and preseason. We can't exactly say the same for Daniel, who has just looked "meh" in that time with us. |

Well, labeling them on where they were drafted is a bit unfair. Blaine Gabbert was a top 10 pick a few years ago, but I'll take a 7th rounder like TJ Yates to be my backup over Gabbert any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Weeden was the 22nd overall pick, but graded out as a mid 2nd rounder. His draft resume aside, has has failed miserably so far, and has shown to be at the bottom of the barrel in terms of NFL QB's. Not saying Murray is going to be the next Yahweh, but if Smith goes down, give me the guy who still has the potential to be a good player.
