I am flying into Midway tomorrow morning around 8am and have to drive up to Racine WI on business. What is the best route to take (ie what do I need to avoid)?

Why the **** didn't you fly into Mitchell? Good God. You just turned a 15 minute drive into a 2 hour drive. At least.

Cicero to I-55 South to I-294 North (which becomes I-94 West). I have no idea what sort of construction is going on, but that's the way to go. It will thoroughly suck. Have fun!

So you don't think taking cicero up to 290 would be a good idea?

I just asked a co-worker that drives I-55 every day. She says that it's under construction, but that time of morning the heavy traffic will be going north, not south. Probably the faster you get to the interstate the better off you'll be. And the Eisenhower (I-290) is always bad in each direction.

Actually not -quite- business.. flying up there to pick up a puppy for my son's 12th birthday. He's been working his butt off for 2 years in school on his grades and behavior, so it's time for dad to pay up

I learned the hard way. Take the toll roads. It takes half the time. Traffic is awful off the toll roads
