Have an IT job interview in the morning.....

After a 2 1/2 year absence from the dreadful IT industry, I have a job interview in the morning...

I am not really nervous, but more sick to my stomach than anything. I thought once I left that shit, I would never have to look back... Well thanks to the economy the flying industry is basically shit plus I cant get even get a sniff with my flight hours for a flying job. Just about everyone is laying off pilots right and left.

So instead of starving my family to death I have sucked up my pride and sent out some resumes. How can someone get excited about something the despise so badly?

Any thoughts? I know I need to keep things rolling and help relieve some of the stress from the wife and family. That what is important.

Been there and done that.... The parinoid and panic IT people will drive you nuts... Typical of guys that never had a date in school and havent had some nookie since nookie had them...

Everyone has to deal with idiots above them. So I got a new domain. About 100 servers. Need to push out a WSUS client and the local policy to tell it to get its updates from the WSUS master server. I create the GPO push it out and every single server worked perfectly. The next day the idiot team lead comes in and tells me to create a local GPO. I explain in very simple terms that the domain wide policy that I made will over rule any local policy I create. After awhile he finally admits this is true. But he still wants me to set the local policy up also to make sure that in case the domain policy fails we will have a local policy as a backup. I further explain if the policy fails so does the pssword policy, the rights to resources, etc, He says I don't care. So I spent 4 days of my life logging onto each frigging server and settting up a local policy that will be overwritten daily.

Sounds like working for someone else is unbearable. Sack up and do your own thing, because no one ever tells you what to do then....

Oh....other than every client, and then there are the weeks where you don't get any billable work done because you're screwing with taxes and payroll and proposals and bids and RFQs and customer service and product development and marketing.

Appreciate the opportunties you have, some of you sound like Derrick Johnson.
