That's a definite advantage of the Nexus phones. At the same time, Google has been systematically converting all the cool stuff from OS features into apps, so you're not missing that much anymore.
And of course, there's always CyanogenMod... |

There's some nifty guides out there that tell you exactly what all you can safely disable regarding unnecessary apps that the manufacturer or carrier rolls out. It's handy to cut down the stupid bloat.
Here's the link for stock Galaxy S3: http://forums.androidcentral.com/spr...ck-rooted.html You can go into Application Manager, and disable them. But a better solution is to "Freeze" them, so that they'll stay disabled even after a reboot. I use an app called Titanium Backup to "Freeze" these built in apps. That prevents them from running automatically. Titanium Backup has additional advantages as well.
