my buddy's first and last experience with it entailed him stopping at a liquor store by a strip club and chugging it in the parking lot on the way in, obviously warm, i cant imagine that sittin well with anyone, considering its like 35 proof, dont think it stayed down long enough to give him a buzz. i had to laugh at him, to try to drink that warm... it is some nasty, nasty stuff. but ice cold it is drinkable and very cost-effective

I remember walking past that shit in the liquor store and thinking how much it looked like fruity, nuclear by-product.

Not to make this any more difficult, but I have always found either Sterling or Robert Mondavi to be exceptional values. You can usual find several varieties (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, or Cab) of both at your local Sam's Club or Costco. Best of luck!

Estancia is a good white (and red for that matter); Chardonay
Blue Nun or Black Tower : Qualitezwein (sp?)...sort of like a Reisling Can't go wrong with Kendal Jackson : Whites or Reds Robert Mondavi; Whites or Reds. those are my 'can't miss' for the $10-20 range.

I was thinking of Blue Nun after I posted about the Riesling. Based upon her taste, it would fall right in line.
