Hudson has broken bone in leg. #Chiefs will go with Lilja at C and Allen at LG for time being, at least. They signed two backup linemen.

Yeah, I know, but the difference was dramatic, and I think the Saints line would have owned Casey Wiegmann, don't you?

It has just been so long, it is nice to see a center get the job done.

That being said, I am not looking forward to it, but I fully expect the Chargers to destroy Cassel this Sunday. Hopefully, I am wrong on that and we get surprised again.

I'm saying he took the pussy way out. Not that we even wanted him here....but he would probably be better than Quinn.

I'm just saying the one kid was riding his nuts saying we forced him out or something when he could've stuck around and fought for a job...instead of going somewhere where injury is the only chance.
You're assuming he could have fought for a job. It's also possible (I would argue it was PROBABLE but I'm trying to be completely objective here) that he knew the job was Cassel's and he figured if he was going to be a backup regardless, he was going to head to a better organization.

Oh I fully expect the Charger's front seven to harass Cassel all day. I'm just hoping that Charles can get started early to at least keep us in it......for a while.

Well that sucks, oh well, Lilja did a pretty good job IMO when he filled in. They signed Hochstein after they put Reeves on IR i'd imagine since they put Hudson on IR that they'll bring up Rich Ranglin from the practice squad since he has the ability to play every spot on the offensive line.

It sucks but lets not forget it was after Hudson went down that Charles broke off his bigger runs IIRC.

I dunno man...if he wasn't confident he could beat Cassel out then **** him any how...

I'd rather play somewhere where I had a chance to start in the NFL, I wouldnt give a **** about Big D's organization.

And I'm still not convinced that wasn't because the Saints defense was thinking pass the entire time.

What if he was told that Cassel's job wasn't up for grabs, no matter how good he played?

Kyle Orton doesn't lack confidence. In fact, I have been told that he lacks humility, if anything.

It appeared that the difference between Hudson and Lilja at center was marginal. However, Allen made a huge difference at left guard.

I think it was Allen that made the difference - not Lilja.
