Insomnia

Anyone got any tips or home remedies for insomnia, without the use of over-the-counter drugs? I work both first and third shifts and I can't seem to adjust to a set sleep pattern, which explains why I am up past 2am posting this on the Planet. Any help would be appreciated.

Nope.

I've been fighting it for years. I've got a drug that kicks my azz and sends me to bed.

The only natural cure I've found is just working your nuts off until you're so dead you pass out when your head hits the pillow...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Curtains that block the light. But that won't be a problem for much longer once it starts getting dark early. Do you sleep well to sounds? Try having a fan going, or get a CD of different sounds. I sleep really well during thunderstorms. I used to have a CD that had noises like that on it. Or is it just your mind racing? Try to train yourself to focus on just one thing whenever you lay down.

Other than that, alcohol should do the trick as well as pills. lol

I do have a problem with that a lot. We run a fan and an air conditioner, but the CD idea sounds good.

Yea, I used to run track and cross-country in high school and always slept well. Now I just run when chased.

What you eat can help too. With a busy schedule like that, make sure you're not eating out all the time. Try to get as many good meals as you can.

Wow. That's the only time I don't have to take a pill to go to sleep.

That low rumble of the thunder puts me out in like 2 minutes...
