Jacksonville, Oakland, and Buffalo are interested in Seahawks QB Matt Flynn

Let's see....

Jacksonville would be bad, as we need them interested in Geno to drive up trade value for our #1; Oakland would be bad for the similar reason, as well as I prefer them to stick with slapdick QB's and this one might have upside....

Let's go Buffalo!

Quote:
The market for Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Flynn could finally be heating up after remaining lukewarm so far this offseason.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com, the Jacksonville Jaguars are the most likely destination for the Seahawks backup quarterback to end up if he’s traded this offseason. The Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills are also expressing interest.

New Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley is familiar with Flynn as he served as the Seahawks defensive coordinator prior to being hired in Jacksonville. Buffalo traded for another Seahawks quarterback last year in Tarvaris Jackson late in the preseason to serve as backup to Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Seattle has expressed their willingness to keep Flynn as a backup next season despite his large contract. With starter Russell Wilson on a rookie third round contract for another two seasons, Seattle isn’t in a position where Flynn’s contract is a burden to their salary cap this season. Despite the offseason acquisitions of Percy Harvin, Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett, the Seahawks are still around $6 million under the salary cap for next season.

“Our primary salary cap model included [Flynn] for the season and that’s a heck of a number two to have,” general manager John Schenider said in an interview with the Mitch in the Morning show on Sports Radio KJR in Seattle on Tuesday. “…The salary cap now with the CBA, the way things work with not being able to re-do [rookie contracts] for three years, we’re very much at peace with that situation.”

However, Seattle would be willing to trade Flynn if the right deal presents itself. The problem for Seattle will be finding that deal. With Flynn carrying a cap number of $7.25 million for next season, it will be difficult for the Seahawks to find a team willing to give them a valuable draft pick in return. If that’s the case and they can’t get the compensation they are seeking, Seattle may benefit more from keeping Flynn on the roster to serve as the backup to Wilson in what they hope will be a Super Bowl run next season.

Except there is no way this is true. Most likely it was some bogus info put out by Flynn's agent to try to get a trade going before the trade.

Our GM basically said we would be doing little to nothing with FA signings and trades, and that we would build through the draft. No chance he gives up a draft pick for a Henne 2.0. We aren't the Chiefs.

According to a article on NFL.com the Chiefs are very serious about Geno Smith. They are bring Smith and Millner to Kansas City for a workout.

**** yea. Guys there is still hope. And the article said there bringing Smith and Millner both to Kansas City. So yes that means everybody on the Chiefs staff will be there.

Also said the Chiefs are fascinated by Smith and said the Chiefs are deep into evaluating him. That means they are SERIOUSLY considering drafting him.

The more you copy and paste this comment, the dumber you are going to look when you realize the chiefs aren't drafting Geno.

La Canfora is just guessing if anything. It's not a coincidence that right after Cambell gets signed, talks of supposed Flynn admirers comes out. Even though we have heard nothing about him all offseason.

Not a smokescreen, just false info put out by his agent.

I expect the Chiefs to draft Geno Smith only slightly more tha I expect tp grow a foot and a half taller, regress in age a little over 30 years, and get an NBA contract.

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Eagles are our only hope in trading that pick really. If the Jags and RAiders really want QBs they will get Smith and Barkley. Eagles are the odd team out if they want a QB. Nobody is going to believe the Chiefs are drafting Geno after getting the wrong Smith in free agency.

Sad thing here is that Reid and the Eagles would put together some gentleman's trade that won't be that good for the Chiefs.
