2014-2015 NHL Offseason/Regular Season Thread

Free Agency starts today. I'm probably the worst candidate to keep up an OP with player movement and the like, but figured it would be cool to have a repository for all things NHL leading up to next season.

Anaheim acquires Kesler from Canucks for Bonino, Sbisa, and picks.

-Dallas acquires Spezza from Montreal for Chiasson, others, and a 2nd round pick.
-Avs acquire Briere for Parenteau and a late pick.
-Predators acquire James Neal for Spaling and Hornqvist.
-Marian Gaborik re-signs with Kings.
-Ryan Miller to Canucks via UFA.
-Paul Stastny to the Blues via UFA.
-Jarome Iginla to the Avs via UFA.
-Dan Boyle to the NYR.
-Brad Richards to the Blackhawks.
-Vanek to the Minnesota Wild.
-Robidas to the Maple Leafs.
-Niskanen to the Caps via UFA.

Feel free to add other moves and I'll do my best to update.

It was fantastic. TB's goal was gorgeous, and once again the outstanding version of Crawford showed up in his never-ending Jekyll and Hyde performance roller-coaster. I'm glad to see it, and I hope he has a great series to go out with a Stanley Cup. With the cap situation Chicago faces in the offseason, Crawford and Sharp, I believe are the most likely to not be back next year sadly. Though with all the rumor about Sharp being a locker room issue this year, that seems almost all but certain.

I had little worry about them getting the equalizer, but didn't expect the 2nd goal in just a matter of minutes. My suspicion was we'd head to OT, which is always a toss up, but the Hawks are more than comfortable with going to extra time.


TB really needed that one if they wanted to have a good shot at taking the series. Quinney is just too good at figuring teams out and making adjustments over the course of a series. Seriously, in his entire time in Chicago the Hawks have only once lost a game 5 or game 6 in the playoffs.

Biggest blunder by the Lightning was to try to just play prevent defense and sit on the 1 goal lead.

Seattle doesn't have an arena and I haven't heard any interest from Houston.

Not that the NHL should strive for simply better attendance than the Coyotes, but Kansas City couldn't do much worse.

That was a nerve racking last 3 minutes for a Blackhawks fan like me. I thought TB scored at least twice during that flurry. Crawford was fantastic. TB had a lot of chances.

Hope we can be more aggressive in Game 5

Kansas City Coyotes doesn't sound bad actually. Fits the area as well.

Yeah, 1/4 of potential new fans wouldn't even have to change out the back window sticker in their trucks if the Coyotes moved to KC.
