Interesting thought. Clowney would rip Joeckel's tits off for the next five years.

That's a god awful trade for the Bucs. At least they can cut him after a few years when he proves he's clearly lost a step.
Maybe a team that can't defend the pass should invest in players that can rush the passer, since cornerbacks can't actually play pass defense now. Just a thought.

If they really wanted him they could have waited until the year was over when he opted out then given him a large contract. They could use the #13 overall on a guy who can rush the passer, because outside of McCoy they have crap up front. Would have been a great landing spot for Jarvis Jones, actually.

That's great, but what are the Bucs going to do when the QB has 5.5 seconds to throw on every play because they can't generate a pass rush?

Ya I would have waited it out. Only the Bucs wanted him that we know of. Not many teams have the cap for him. Kind of like the Albert situation.

I haven't read the whole thread, and saying that we should keep an eye on this deal because the Jets may very well be vying for Geno . If KC is wants to trade down then Jets are good candidates for trade partners with two 1st round picks.

Last I checked, TB was WAYYYY under the cap.
Was the Revis trade a move they had to do to get over the cap floor? Maybe they had to spend it, or pay the financial penalty of not doing so that is the equivalent of the amount needed to reach the cap floor....and that amount is split up to all players iirc. |
