What Not to Do After Robbing a Casino (Talk about it on a message board)

http://gawker.com/5752713/what-not-t...bbing-a-casino

Las Vegas police on Wednesday arrested 29-year-old Anthony Carleo for allegedly robbing the Bellagio Casino for $1.5 million in chips, while brandishing a pistol and wearing a motorcycle helmet. Carleo was busted after bragging about the robbery on the internet.

The December 14 robbery was caught on video (below), in which a man in a helmet can be seen fleeing the casino after robbing a craps table. On Wednesday, police arrested Carleo, who also happens to be the son of a Las Vegas judge. So what would you do if you had just robbed a casino for $1.5 million? Maybe lay low for a while, or even leave the country for a bit? Well, Carleo decided to get a hotel room in the Bellagio, gamble a lot, and then brag and try to sell $25,000 chips on the internet, police told the AP. Carleo had recently been running around Vegas calling himself a "made man" according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Before the heist, Carleo had mentioned to a poker dealer at the Bellagio that to rob the the place, "All you need is a black mask and a motorcycle, and I have a motorcycle." What a ****ing idiot.

The Las Vegas Sun spoke with Matthew Brooks, who Carleo contacted through the poker website TwoPlusTwo.com, where Brooks had discussed the so-called "Biker Bandit" with other amateur gamblers.
His first few posts were directed at me saying, ‘Hey, I need to talk to you about this,' " Brooks said. "I was kind of taken aback by it, it was kind of surprising."

Brooks said he received an e-mail Jan. 26 from the fellow, whose e-moniker was Cranberrykid25, asking if he would be interested in paying 20 cents on the dollar for the casino chips and, if so, how many Brooks would be willing to purchase.
Carleo then sent Brooks pictures of $25,000 chips with handwritten notes signed "Biker Bandit," which Brooks sent to police and the FBI. Now Carleo is sitting in jail. And this, folks, is exactly how you shouldn't act after pulling off a high profile casino heist.
