Applying the Chiefs success on draft picks to the picks value does water them down. Still, in the mind of the organization they gave up a lot for him. If they believe in him, I think fans have a right to expect something from him. I don't need him to be Drew Brees. I am not even expecting a lot with the Oline playing like this. But he is missing a lot of the shorter throws recently. They defenses are only going to continue to choke out the short passes.

To the OP of this thread, shut your pie hole. It's the Chiefs' offensive coordinator that needs to go, not Andy Reid. You can't honestly tell me the Chiefs' 6-0 start had nothing to with Reid as HC. Just shut it already!

I hate coordinators on the sidelines.

HATE IT.

Prefer to have them both in the box...

I just read a post from a KC fan that suggested that Reid is deliberately not showing all of his playbook. That he is essentially being as vanilla as possible.. that Denver is our true target to unleash on for obvious divisional purposes... that what we have seen is just a small fraction of Reid's playbook that is ready to pounce with far more creativity.

any thoughts?

Horrible excuse. You try your best to win every game, not save them for a rainy day risking several losses in the process. It isn't the playcalling, it's the execution.

That's fine.. you are probably right. On the remote chance that you are not.. do you think Reid has the arrogance to expect wins against the competition we have faced? so that just maybe he is holding out?

Just that he has the arrogance... you have already answered the other.

... and do you also feel that the formations used have been harmful to the execution?

If 80% of your playcalls are drop back passes and your QB is Alex Smith, the problem IS the playcalling.

This team doesn't keep D's off balance. The constant drop back passing puts pressure on the OL and the QB. It makes their job harder.

Mixing in screens, draws, play action, counters, and runs along with the drop back passing would go a long way to improving the offense. It would make the OL's job easier as well as Alex's. He's not Brady, Manning, or Brees. Reid needs to stop calling games as if he is. I'm not trying to bash the guy, but he is what he is.

I mean the empty backfield stuff is just ridiculous on 1st and 10 with THIS offense.
