Exactly. He needs to sit this year. Hell, he shouldn't even be active on game days. He needs to learn. He learned absolutely nothing at Tennessee on how to be a professional qb. Let him sit. Learn, practice, learn, watch, like him or not, stay in Alex Smiths hip pocket. At least this year. THen, in camp next year, lets see what hes got, and maybe, he can take over from Alex Smith then.....

This year would do nothing but destroy what they are building with him. That would be terrible to me.

Dallas has Orton, but yes, the rest of that list, except for Denver, we have been told many times that the great BROCK OSWEILER would rescue them.....shakes head.

But yes. there are very few teams like Seattle who you didn't put, their back up is going to be tavaris, or brady Quinn, and Chicago, would be two other teams that are in a crap heap if their qb gets hurt.

Quite a few of those teams will still be able to win games. Dallas will be fine with Orton. Cincy will be fine with Skelton. Baltimore could be alright with Tyrod Taylor, but that's up in the air. The Giants have Carr. Carolina has Derek Anderson (although the team itself loses tons of games with Cam, so that may be a lost cause).

Those are all quality backups that I'd much rather have than Chase.

They trusted him for an entire season last year.

It's apparent that McCarthy now believes that was probably an unnecessary risk that should never have happened.

well, losing Bulaga, and having to rely on a rookie left tackle probably added to that.

They'll use Marshall Newhouse at LT. He's pretty mediocre, but he will get them through an entire season. The only other option McCarthy would have is Andrew Datko (since Bakhtiari needs to be the starting RT) and I seriously doubt he would be ready if he hasn't gotten a look from them yet.

Skelton is awful, Taylor is completely unknown, Carr is dreadful, Derek Anderson has been run out of not one but two NFL towns, etc.

Chase Daniel has spent the past four seasons working with Drew Brees and three out of four with Sean Payton. He was a playmaker in college and was handpicked by another pretty good QB coach in Andy Reid.

Personally, I'm not concerned with him at this point.

Why can Andy Reid help Smith and Bray, but can't help Daniel and Stanzi?

Reid traded for Smith, signed Daniel, and picked up Bray as an UDFA.

Sounds even he doesn't think he can help Stanzi.
