2ndary Rankings... (FIXED, sorry)

I'm in no way trying to make an excuse for or shit D 2ndary b/c it been about as easy to make a pass on as your promdate passed out drunk. Given the fact that 17 other teams have generated more sacks. But, I was more interested in seeing what their completion % was and how it ranked:

Doesn't the fact that Indy gives up a higher completion % - 5th worst in the league & and a 4.6 YPC avg in the run, 6th worst in the league, a better indicator of how this team will fair over the course of the year. They look very much like the Chiefs of '03 - soft schedule with little test- maybe even less tests than we had, and the beneficiaries of a number of turnovers, they have 11 INT's and 3 fumbles and a +8 TO TA / GA ratio, 3rd in the NFL. The D is improved but the high number of ints are a product of crappy teams that tried to match points or were behind and with their pass rush a respectable result.

A team such as Washington, Denver, KC, Atlanta & others with solid O-lines, (Roaf shutting out Freeney 2 times, ahem... ahem) could really turn out a la Cincy v '03. A 4.6 ypc = Ball Control and neutralizing a pass rush when you have 3rd and shorts that allow 3 step drops, draws, and delays. Their D's passing completion % is actually worse than ours! The delays and draws or screens would slow down penetration some, and running off tackle at Freeney has been successful before. Help for Simon would be needed but we have the guys, including TRich, to do it I think once Samson can return and our line can get some time to actually all play together for ONCE! Shields play has been a ? for me, but we can only hope the blocking picks up - and Samson provides us with the ability to run to the right - even just a few times, b/c no team was too bothered by our rushing to that side when Black or anyone else was over there.

The Colts are extremely blessed with the best record and shit your pants in disbelief easy schedule. Homefield throughout might just be enough to get them over the hump b/c lets face it - I don't see a team outside Atlanta I think that can gameplan and field a team vs whoever comes out of the AFC's brutal and superior contenders.

Ironically, with the way the Donks are playing, minimizing Plummer's touches, and an elite kicker to maximize points chances- they'd be a ripe team to go in and upset them in a playoff game. Indy's put a mindfuck of equal to degree on denver that the pat's have put on the colts. Wouldn't be too opposed to Denver bouncing them in Indy in their 1st playoff game when they have homefield thru out and then us dropping the Donks at home the next week. Exercise the two Indy and 1 Donkey playoff losses in a way. Not to mention that means the Chargers are out, which is good b/c they are scary good.
