Interview Today for PM Position - Wish me luck

laid off almost 3 weeks ago. Finally got a preliminary interview today. wooot.

I need some good mojo going. If all goes well, I could get referred to the hiring manager by as early as tomorrow.

also have been submitted for a 6 month gig in Walnut Creek, CA. This was based on a former director of mine who highly recommended me. I didn't even apply for this one, I just got a call out of the blue. Hopefully this one locally pans out. Not really eager to leave my wife and dogs for 6 months.

commence Mojo.

I think this one might be good because it's a little out of my skillset, but close enough that I could have a great opportunity to learn some great new skills. Cell site switching, decommisoning, etc
Have the interview with the VP tomorrow at 2pm. So, we'll see.

Then out of the blue yesterday, I saw an old VP of mine at Chick Fil A. Gave me his number and told me to send me my contact info. I did so, and he asked me to send him my resume. Thankfully, my wife decided on Chick Fil A last night lol.

so...a few leads.
Oh yeah? Well I plan on winning the lottery this weekend, so top that, Mr. I Have Skills and People Love What I Do guy. You better give me a ten spot when I clean your windows while you wait on a light, damn you.

Good luck with any and/or all of it. Sounds like life is about to take off for you....

Good luck.

Just hit the job market myself. My position was eliminated when we merged with another company. Just found out Monday.

But isn't the economy growing so much? At least that's what MSNBC, NBC, Brian Willams, and the NY Times are saying...

GOOD LUCK IN YOUR SEARCH!

Sorry to hear man. Not sure how your previous gig was, but I couldn't stand my job. So while it sucked to lose it from a $$ standpoint, I sort of had some clarity. And decided to treat it as an opportunity. It's working so, I'm having a little luck getting back into telecom after five yrs of bean counting.

good luck dude. Come back for some mojo when interviews come. It seemed to help me

1- I didn't know this was a DC thread.

2- If it were my answer would be that you mistook phrases like "the economy is showing signs of upswing" with "the economy is already fixed, and happy days are here again."

But I'm glad it's not a DC thread.

Best of luck to you Dayze. My dad is a retired PMP with a ton of telecom contacts and is currently working part time as a recruiter. He's handling mostly the Dallas market, but has ties to KC as well. Hell, our entire division is getting the ax, so I'm out trying to find another internal position before I get the hammer myself, so I may be using him in the not so distant future.

Chiefs Planet mojo worked!
job offer and accepted today. Didn't even go in for an interview; just a phone interview with the VP.
slightly more pay (not much, but who cares), and I've FINALLY detached myself from project controls (thank god)
