Report: Tom Brady destroyed his phone. Appeal has been denied.
Nope.....he did nothing wrong.
http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/...eld/ar-AAdBouH The NFL is going to reject Tom Brady’s appeal and uphold the four-game suspension he is facing for his alleged role in Deflategate, according to one report. Stephen A. Smith said on ESPN’s “First Take” Tuesday morning that a source told him Roger Goodell will not reduce or overturn Brady’s suspension. Perhaps more shocking, Smith cited a separate source who told him Brady actually destroyed his own personal cell phone rather than just refusing to turn it over. We have known all along that the bigger issue here is Brady’s lack of cooperation during the Ted Wells investigation. The NFL was furious that Brady wouldn’t give up “relevant” text messages and emails that might help clarify his level of involvement — or lack thereof — in Patriots equipment managers allegedly letting air out of game balls. Smith clarified that he was told by one source that the NFL is going stand by its four-game suspension within the next 24-48 hours, whereas the information about Brady destroying his cell phone was just “something I heard.” It was almost as if he was downplaying the information knowing how much of a bombshell the rumor was. Reports in recent weeks have been all over the place regarding Brady’s appeal. There has been some indication that the two sides are working toward a settlement, though reports like this one make that seem unlikely. If the NFL upholds the suspension, no one would be stunned. If someone can prove that Brady destroyed his cell phone, that would be tough for the New England Patriots quarterback to explain. |

Second: You don't think those texts show any possibilities that Brady knew what was going on? They mention him by name. Third: The league doesn't have to "prove" their case. This isn't a criminal case and the CBA clearly states that the league only has to have evidence that the infraction was "more probable than not". Fourth: No Patriot fan or official has ever been able to explain why Brady "destroyed" his phone. Who does that? The first thing you do when you get a new phone is ask the clerk "how do I get the information from this old phone transferred to my new phone." You don't just go get a new phone and give your old phone to an assistant with instructions to destroy it. |

Totally. I agree. And I truly believe it was a mere coincidence that Brady destroyed his phone and SIM card the very day he was questioned by Wells

-A barrage of phone activity soon after the investigation particularly to a guy known as "the deflator" (Patriots claim that was a different nickname) -Destroyed phone coincidentally after the investigation began (Brady claims he destroys his phone every so often) -We already have pretty good evidence that someone most likely tampered with the footballs What's the source of great humor is that Pats fans are actually buying these as incredible coincidences vs. evidence that something fishy was happening. And all of those things above would be dismissed if Brady didn't act like we were all stupid. Then again, there are people who actually buy Brady's ridiculous lies so maybe he has a point. |

Nobody who is ****ing innocent would destroy his ****ing cell phone immediately after he was asked to provide the contents of the text messages contained on that phone. Nobody. If nothing else would cause the Brady ball-washers to begin to question Brady's integrity, you'd think that would. But it clearly hasn't. The Brady ball-washers really should be ashamed of themselves. |

That seems odd that he waited that long to do it if he feared there might be incriminating evidence on there. I doubt he was caught off guard by referencing text.

There may never truly be a smoking gun, but basic common sense tells us that people in the Patriots organization were intentionally trying to alter the balls, and that Brady was aware of it if not outright responsible for it.
Patriots homers can spin all they want. Everyone else on the planet with a working brain has a close enough idea of what happened to know that these guys were trying to get away with something. The Patriot homers in this thread are embarrassing, but honestly BEP and JustPassinBy have always been painfully stupid in every opinion they have. Asterix was respected at one time, but between this and the name change tantrum, he's become a punchline too. So 3 of the least respected posters on this forum are simply behaving as you would expect.

Secondly, while Hamas is a very intelligent person, he's not a physicist and to my recollection, hasn't read the entire Well Report in an effort to debunk the science. You and many others seem to constantly refer to the falsified report leaked to the public by Chris Mortensen. It's pretty apparent that Mortensen is pissed he was used a mouthpiece by the NFL and rightfully so. And while I certainly agree that there is enough circumstantial evidence and odd behavior on the part of Tom Brady, the Wells Report is flawed. |

Can you honestly think of a reason that is both rational and believable to explain Tom Brady's actions? Tom Brady suggested the relaxation of the PSI rules years ago, yet when this story first broke he acted as if he had never even heard of PSI and what effect it could have on a football. And then to destroy his cell phone IMMEDIATELY after he was asked about text messages is a very bad look. |

I'm not so sure about that. His position is pretty clear on the Wells Report, but he has acknowledged that Brady's behavior is odd.
I asked Dane because I want to hear what he has to say. I didn't ask Asterix or BEP or Just Passin' By or any other of the deluded Brady ball-washers, because they are obviously beyond all hope. |

But man, he lost me when it was revealed that he destroyed his phone when he did. I think it's a little odd that he allegedly has a six month cycle of new cell phones and physically destroys the previous phone, but I'm actually okay with because it's certainly not illegal and it's likely that paparazzi and whatnot would attempt to retrieve any data (i.e., pictures and video) of him or his family. But to destroy it the same day as the meeting? It's difficult to justify that as a coincidence. |
