Way better. Unequivocally better. I loved season 4, but it marked a slight shift in the show away from character-driven moments and into more crazy shit happening moments. I'd say less than half of s4's episodes were on s3's level.

Not even close. Season 4 had way more Gus, significant development of both main characters (Cranston may have done his best work this year, fully transforming himself into a completely different character from the one seen in Season 1), and no real useless filler episodes like Season 3's "Fly."

I went it to Season 4 thinking this was a very good show, I came out of it thinking it was great.

This is where we permanently diverge. Anyone who thinks "Fly" is "useless" is not someone I can have a profitable conversation with. "Fly" is extraordinary televison, and probably better than any single episode in season 4 that isn't named "Crawl Space."

There are lots of fans of Breaking Bad who love the cool action moments in the show more than the slow burn character psychology. God love 'em, they keep the show on the air. Of course season 4 is going to appeal more to that sector of the fanbase. I can see where you're coming from, is what I'm saying, though I won't be swayed to that side.

"Fly" was a filler episode with little character development. Nothing about it was entertaining, unexpected, or thought-provoking. They basically wasted 40 minutes acknowledging something that we already knew about Walt. It added nothing to the show.

Can't say I care much about "cool action moments," nor do I think you are right to define Season 4 in that way. Gus, for example, was perhaps the most fascinating character in this entire series. The examination into his character's psychology was one of the things that made the most recent season as good as it was.

I will be honest, any girl that is remotely like Jane in real life, gets hit on. I had one like her Crying in my Jeep last week. I just can't get enough of Bipolar addicts. Female version of Rick James.

Sometimes when you're constantly searching for the "rare cereals", you can miss out on the greater picture.

Some people didn't like the dream episodes in "The Sopranos". "Fly" is like a lite version of a dream episode imho. Can be argued either way. Depends highly on how much you like to dig thru the abstract. I love it in small doses.
