Disappointed in McCluster

Bla bla bla, he's a playmaker, he has two touchdowns already, whatever.

He has seven catches for 93 yards. 1/3 of that yardage came on one play. At least two of those are screen passes I believe.

That ****ing sucks.

This guy needs to be a threat as a WIDE RECEIVER. He hasnt made a single play down the field. I'm not even talking 20 yards. How about 10? How about coming off the line, putting your foot in the ground, getting open and giving Cassel a target?

I'm not willing to accept the idea that Cassel is so god awful he makes all our wide receivers look terrible.

McCluster hasn't done shit yet. And he was utter garbage in Indy.

Don't buy any of his ****ing t-shirts.

That is why I hate Dexter McCluster. If I'm Dante, he belongs in the 9th circle of Chiefs fan hell, both he and Cassel forever being consumed by the mouths of the Great Satan himself, Scott Pioli
...yup! Pioli thought he could outsmart everyone but he was ****ing outsmarting himself. Ugh I had to ****ing hear Siavii's name again. I was pounding the table back in that draft for Dockett. DMC was useless. He was only good as a PR. And really didn't succeed until Toub came in. Which anyone can get TD returns in his schemes.

SNR is an ok guy, don't get me wrong ... but he's about as bad as Clay when it comes to Chiefs football talk. Just awful. You guys really have no room to talk after your Geno Smith monstrosity offseason.

We could have had 15 guys who are better players.

So that's reason enough to hate him.

That and how he thinks he's awesome with that shimmy he does after every little dink and dunk catch.

McCluster is a role player. They obviously planned to use him as a gadget guy. That team had tons of holes that needed to be filled. There are plenty of guys listed in that second round that could have been key starters, even still today. That's all he was saying, and I agree with him. They were going for dessert without perfecting the main course.
This is the main issue with me. DMC performed fine for the type of player he is... a gadget. It's no surprise he's not great at any one thing. But the Chiefs needed starters. Every down type players, not 25 snaps per game type players.

Draft g gadgets is just bad practice in general. At best their impact is pretty small, they're never worth a 2nd contract. Name 5 gadget players that had a big impact in the league. Hell, name 1. Sproles maybe? And has any team ever signed him to a 2nd contract?

DAT is better than DMC. Reid and Dorsey got him in what round? 4? He's every bit as good as DMC.

My Geno evaluation was off the mark, but I still say my plan to find the Chiefs QBOTF was better than blowing all our jizz in one load on Alex ****ing Smith. If you're a 2-14 team and you need a QB to build around, and there's nothing you like, then wait until next ****ing year. You're not going to the ****ing Super Bowl anyway, so you may as well do it the right way.

I get stuff wrong all the time just like any average football fan, but more often than not you can read a take of mine I once wrote and see that I wasn't too far off.

And yes, even you get your shit wrong from time to time, Hootie. Football AND baseball.

never going to be realistic

QBOTF simply do not grow on trees. Drafting the guy who went 39th #1 is ridiculous. Over the course of the entire Dorsey/Reid regime, they have literally had no other options to upgrade the QB position any better than Alex Smith. The best QB prospect drafted in the Reid/Dorsey era? uhhhhhhh Blake Bortles?

Fine. Teddy Bridgewater. Ok. Are we really going to be mad about missing out on a guy who projects to be, oh I don't know, Philip Rivers if he hits his absolute ceiling? Because last I checked, Mr. Rivers hasn't really won anything important and according to this board, year in and year out, it's Super Bowl championship ... waste of time.

You're not being logical.

Would we be better off with Dee Fjord on this roster, or Teddy Bridgewater?

Be logical.

Dee Ford. I have a feeling he's going to be pretty ****ing good. Not basing it on anything more than a gut feeling. Honestly, I have watched maybe 3 NFL games of Bridgewater so I might be off base, but I just really don't see it. I think he'll prove to be a flash in the pan.

Let's see....yesterday I saw Teddy throw a TD pass in a spot that Alex literally has NEVER thrown in two years in KC...and probably in the last 4 years knowing him.

Meanwhile Dee Fjord has as many sacks as broken ribs.

You go with that gut feeling though.

QBOTFs don't grow on trees, but if you want one you still have to go looking for it. The stork doesn't ****ing deliver them just because it's your turn as a franchise to enjoy one.

Making an excuse for Teddy Bridgewater just because he's only one counterexample is the kind of shit that has led to such an atrocious record of QBs in Kansas City.

And that's pretty poor arguing even for you, Hootie. There's a hole in your argument about the Chiefs in Alex Smith, so you shit on it by calling it Phillip Rivers even though you have no ****ing clue about what Teddy Bridgewater could be (and that includes what his ceiling is). The fact that the best you can do is "insult" Teddy by calling him Philip Rivers goes to show that being impatient about getting your longterm QB situation fixed in one offseason when there are no decent options available is no way to operate.
