Yesterday we brought to you the news that a reveal of Bungie's next project, Destiny, was being hinted at for this upcoming Monday, February 18 – an augmented-reality game on the studio's website seemed to be pointing toward that date. Well, we won't have to wait quite that long. It's now been announced that Destiny will be unveiled one day earlier than we thought, on this Sunday, February 17.
An official Facebook page went live today and made that announcement as its first order of business. A Twitter account for the game has also been activated as well.
And if all that isn't enough to get you hyped, have a first look at the game's just-revealed logo as well:

That's what I did. I sat in a group of people that were 10 levels higher than me and let my 4 year old try "shooting" the enemies. She was having a great time and I was getting engrams for it. Win-win.

It sort of rubs me the wrong way when people just sit there and reap the rewards of my monotony without contributing at least a little bit of their attention.

It's one thing for one person out of four or five to stop shooting for a little while (phone call, eating, junking greens, whatever), but it seems pretty frequent that I'll be going at it alone and someone comes and just sits down next to me and does nothing. Mindless as it is, farming alone actually demands my attention (since missing actually has consequences) - can't you bother to help out just a little?

I'm not 100% sure how the instancing works in Destiny, but I would imagine that there is a cap to how many people can be in an area at once. If that's indeed true, every AFKer is taking the spot of a contributor. Just another small annoyance I have with it.

You still get loot even if you don't shoot. If you see a bunch of people there just stand behind them and go do something around the house for 10 or 15 minutes, then go into the cave and get the loot they farmed for you.

Even if you get disconnected for being idle for too long your postmaster will collect any rare or legendary items that dropped and you can pick them up back at the tower.

My buddy is still working on that. He's stuck on the part where you have to find and dismantle 10 rare fusion rifles.

Yup I've got 2 and a legendary but don't want to dismantle the legendary. I'm hoping the gunsmith will sell a rare one. That's what's kicking my ass

I lucked out and happened to find one on the gunsmith at dark o'clock in the morning. Unfortunately it was level 18 so I ended up spending 20k glimmer, but it got me through.

The next part is to kill 200 elite enemies with a fusion rifle (i.e. kill enemies in the weekly nightfall). Which I did solo by clearing the normal mobs in the first room in the Hellmouth and then running through past the elites to the next room, where the strike's first event launches waves of thralls at you. Which was perfect for fusion rifle kills... Die and repeat. Took me 4 or 5 hours total. No idea if that strategy will be applicable to whatever strike is the nightfall weekly tomorrow.

Then you're done. Base model only has a 3 shot magazine and it seems to have a wider spread so it's harder to hit from range, but it's brutal up close.
