I still really like Gates. A lot of CP'ers don't though.

Yeah I love Gates. Another place that's usually good is Jack Stack BBQ on the Plaza.

Gates re opened on 40 highway and the new location is pretty nice


When gates is hitting on all cylinders it is hard to beat their beef on bun sandwich special w/ steak fries

Sounds good - Not to keep pounding this point home - but when my mom went back to Blue Springs in early May she'd sent me pics of her Zarda meal - and it looked great - Zarda can play with any of these places when it's an on day for them. IMO

Not a damn thing wrong with Zarda I have had good meals there over the years.

Same goes for Gates I used to always get a beef and a half on white bread with fries for lunch. I would get a bowl of sauce and dip than big ass sammie in it along with the fries and a big ol iced tea. I think when Ollie kinda scaled back and got into Jackson County politics his family took over and consistency went down a bit.
