TBL has an almost preternatural quality to become more appreciated over time.

Even I thought it was disappointing when I first watched it, and I'm a Coen Brothers fan from the very first time time I saw effing Raising Arizona at an effing Drive-In [first run]. Now it's probably my favorite Coen Brothers movie, and a top ten all time comedy.
This is true I watched first time and thought wtf it took about 3 times and little things I kept missing and the chuckles came. But I never got the white Russian fad that went with it. Hate those and milk has no business in a drink.

Sounds like Fight Club...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

which was perfectly executed, IMO. Both from a plot standpoint and an audiovisual standpoint. [remember, this was before that descending base note shit was in every movie on earth]

In an alternate reality I could have a conversation with you about that flick/book for a few hours.

Here, it's already boring people to tears.

And yes, I know all about Palahniuk's sexuality. I love, win or lose, his insistence on being a d!ickhead. He's got a long history of it and it only makes me want to read more...

Would you believe, Fight Club is the only Palahnuik book I haven't read, let alone own?

OK, that's an overstatement. I looked and I have 8 CP books, but Fight Club isn't one and I haven't read it.

Invisible Monsters
Choke
Lullaby
Haunted
Survivor
Diary
Dora
Beautiful You

Where would you rank FC among them, if you've read them?

I think FC is the first book that wasn't better than the movie.

It was good, don't get me wrong, but it really didn't...odd...it just couldn't really dig deep in the skin the way the film did.

It completely predicted the big empty that was nameless before Cell phones/facebook/POF/internet life...

Conversely, I never felt the urge to watch Choke, even though I like Sam Rockwell and read the book nearly in one sitting. Any input on that experience?

There's room on the sister-wives rotation schedule, if you're so inclined.
