Just my opinion feel free to ignore, but that should be the theme of saveourchiefs.

This city has been held hostage by disconnected, out-of-town ownership and that's the narrative the national (and to some degree local) media have missed. Clark Hunt lives in Texas and David Glass lives in Arkansas. They can't feel your pain or passion. They're tone deaf to the issues undermining their teams. They're riding the NFL and MLB gravy trains. They turn a profit regardless of how much effort they put into their ballclubs.

Kansas City sports fans are tired of being held hostage by Absentee Ownership.

Heard him on 610. It was a fun interview. I've been hard on Jason in the past, but he's spot on with all this and he's absolutely right about the angle. Clark has to feel damage to his name (the "absentee owner") the same way that KC feels damage to its name.

I too also feel that the owners (Both Hunt and Glass) are absentee owners, and, to me as a fan, it shows that not a single **** was given.

As much as everyone rail on Jerry Jones and to a degree, Dan Snyder, at least they are passionate about their football team, even by irrational logic/micromanagement, by trying to improve the team, somehow, unlike Hunt.

Just my two cents.

Yes, the recent success of Sporting Kansas City, which occurred AFTER THE HUNTS SOLD THE TEAM, proves that local ownership that is vested in the community is a good model for the future. The owners live, work, dine, shop and attend games with the rest of us. Aside from being zillionaires, they are accessible regular people. Because they live in the community and are part of the community they are keenly aware of the pulse of the city and surrounding areas. They understood building a spectacular new venue for the sport was a risk but one they calculated would pay off because it would be a living embodiment of their dedication and commitment to the sport and, more importantly, the city.

One Arrowhead drive now stands as a reminder of past glory and success. For the owners it is a cash cow relic. For the fans it is a cash cow money pit. The fact that neither team is successful and both have out of town owners making money in spite of dismal teams seems to be more than coincidence. It's a strategy.
