some things were good, some things were bad ... it's the nature of the game, but what disappointed me the most was the (apparent)lack of preparation for things that we should of known were going to occur.

1. our tackling is still complete cr@p... i mean wtf, how many years do we have to put up with lazy,sloppy tackle techniques before we do something about it. IMO denver got about half of their yards rushing after a sloppy missed tackle sunday.

2. show of hands!!! ....... how many people here didn't know that the Donk's offense was going to use chop blocks, cutback running plays??? How many people here didn't know that denver was going to use bootlegs and rollouts to get Plummer outside the pocket to improve his production??

anyone, anyone ... bueller, bueller....

but yet we didn't have a spy on plummer or have any special plan in place for outside containment. Apparently the coaching staff didn't even tell our Defensive Ends to make sure of a handoff before crashing down the line.

3. 4th and 2 on denver's 43 yrd line ... 8 1/2 minutes left in the game ... we are down by 3 ... our defense has been holding on by a thread on game long.... we punt.

how many times... how many games .. how many years is it going to take for Dick Vermeil to learn that he is going to have to get more aggressive to help cover for his weak defense? new england anyone???

sometimes you win, sometimes you lose .... but i expect better preparation from such a veteran coaching staff.

I think next time they should just have the DE on the backside of the play run upfield at Plummer. Only stop if you're 100% certain he doesn't have the ball. Let the LBs and DBs worry about Q cutting it back against the grain. Q might make more big plays but if we level Plummer every time he rolls out, they'll have to do something different to protect him or stop calling it.

As to #3 I don't think it was completely moronic to expect that a Gunther Cunningham defense would break like Robinson's did. By punting the ball he put a vote of confidence in Gunther and the defense. They failed the test, but I'm not sure it was that bad of a move. Hindsight is 20-20.

I disagree. From my standpoint it was some of the best field position the offense had enjoyed all night and time was running out. If anything, I was thinking that if KC punted and got the ball back, they'd be lucky to get as close again. The passing game was going nowhere and there wasn't enough time to run Priest 8 times.

Going for it on 4th down also says to your defense that we have faith in you to cover our backs if we don't get it.

Now if KC was ahead or tied, then going for it on 4th down sends a negative message to your D that you don't think they can hold a lead. But being behind, and not moving the ball well through the air, you got to grasp the chance for the lead at that moment.
