Schefters says the Faiders are taking Russell

no huge shock ..... but i guess it's looks more and more like the decision is made and they are take Jamarcus Russell with the 1st pick.

still in negotiations to keep some leverage on Russell but i guess he's the pick unless something really falls though.

Not sure where the negativity for Schefter comes from. Maybe post a few examples of when he was wrong? I know it's not often.

He would usually always have great information when he wrote for the Post. Currently Bill Williamson is just awful. I remember when Schefter "suggested" a trade straight up, Champ for Portis, 2-3 before anyone had even thought of the idea.

I think Russell is over-rated....but CJ would scare the piss out of me...IF they were to ever get a QB who could get him the rock.

If they get a "healthy" Culpepper....or somehow sign Trent Green, WITH CJ and Moss (or Porter as WRs)....I think our "streak" against the Black and Silver 'ends'....JMHO

If the Raiders don't already have a contract with whomever they plan on taking, I think they may have more trouble signing them later. I think they would get a better deal if they play one player against the other.
