A couple of years ago I would have answered differently but my oldest son found my classic rock and now I've heard CCR, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, etc so many times lately that I'm, frankly, almost sick of it.

If you were talking desert island music, where I could only have the catalogs from five bands, I would have to pick Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Cure, Thin White Rope and Front Line Assembly (especially if I got to include all of the off-shoot bands like Delerium, Intermix and Conjure One).

They've been mentioned several times.

With all of the classic rock and metal listed, I'm a little surprised that more people didn't list Deep Purple or Judas Priest.

Deep Purple - now THAT is a band.

Made In Japan, In Rock, Machine Head, Burn, Come Taste The Band...

Deep Purple brought the goods.

Deep Purple is tough because they went through so many line-up changes and some of them were flat AWFUL.

Judas Priest loses out to Motorhead and even Maiden in my list.

I don't really care for Judas Priest. I had "Hellbent For Leather" in high school and I still like that album but am not a big fan otherwise. My son now has almost all of their albums, so I get to hear them a lot. Yay (sarcasm).

I liked Rainbow more than Purple. I saw Rainbow in '81 (with Joe Lynn Turner instead of Dio, unfortunately) and it was a great show.

I was just surprised more people hadn't mentioned them.

****ing terrible.

Every single ****ing song sounds the same.

Even with the other guy singing.

I can never in my life fathom someone actually choosing to listen to Boston.

Like, 'I'm gonna take this CD or whatever, out of the case, put it IN the tray...and press play.'

I'm just gonna say, if you actually DO that...then you get what you deserve.

You're a female, and it's your time of the month??

I don't know if I could narrow it down to just 5...Some of my tops are:

Pantera
Grateful Dead (not really rock, but...)
Pink Floyd
Alice in Chains (WITH Layne Staley)
Led Zepplin
Mastodon
Tool
The Black Keys
Sublime (WITH Knowles)
Blues Traveler
The Deftones

Those are just a few of the ones that do it for me anyway...I could name several others. Being an artist/musician, I pull influence and inspiration from too many places to just name 5. My list would change all the time.
