damn

Right behind my apartment building is a fairly busy traintrack. Apparently, 3 teens got ****ed up and decided on a suicide attempt last night. They sat on the tracks and listened to a radio while the awaited the train to run them over. The police have been trying to clean it up all day but ran out of daylight. It was just on the news and there is police tape everywhere.

The sad thing is last night me and some buddies were out back drinking when we heard loud music coming from the tracks. It must've been them. We yelled to turn it down and shut the **** up, joking around.

Was it Jethro Tull's "Locomotive Breath"?

I just got a job with BNSF as a conductor and apparently if someone gets run over by a train after the police come you get to clean stuff from under the train in case hoses or anything get broken. Not the body just excess stuff, I sure hope I don't have to go through that any time soon.

Well you're right it is sad but those kids had a choice and they took the easy way out.

Congratulations on the new job and you are right about the fact that these dipshits sure do not represent the majority of teenagers or indicate the direction of the country.

I'm betting this has a lot to do with kids not learning to lose on the little things.

It seems to me that we spend too much time trying to protect kids from emotional pain. As we get older the things that hurt us are more severe. If we haven't developed the ability to deal with the small things the big things are too much.

Ah thank you. Its a shame people go out like this. Teenagers always think the smallest things are a huge part of their life and stress over them. Girls, popularity, and school.

Agreed, and that is why it is so important to have caring, involved parents at that stage in life.

Agreed. It just seems like the newer generation doesnt have the same coping mechanisms that previous ones did. There are more and more stories of kids falling off of a cliff these days. 3 days before Halloween a 20 year old 5 houses away hung himself from the tree in his front yard...popular kid, young, blah, blah, blah.

Another recent story in these parts was a young mom in her 20's who, with her dirtbag boyfriend, strapped her 3 kids all under age 9 into a car and pushed them into a local lake???

There are just too many distractions and not enough family support in modern life IMO.

No, it was 98.9 the rock. I heard some red hot chili peppers at one point.

I bet they played an Ozzy song. Those kids killed themselves because they were thinking "Damn, if new rock is so bad that we still have to hear Crazy Train twice a day we might as well end it now."
