That's really weird. Since they don't exist, what's the name of the company? I'm very curious about this now.

If I wrote the name of the company, this thread would become the #1 google result for that name. I don't think I want them to find this thread.

Dude, I looked that company up in all three states where they claim to have an office and in the state where they claim to have been founded. There is no legal company by that name in any of those states.

Maybe there's some chance that they did a DBA thing and have a different formal name, but the fact that they claim all of those projects and yet don't have a single google hit - as in zero - makes me agree with you that it's some sort of scam. But what the heck kind of scam are they running?

Seriously, you should report them to the Attorney General or Secretary of State in your state. Something's going on there.

Did the guy in your interview seem skanky?

I've heard of scams to get work out of someone for a month or so and not pay them, then when the victim tries to file legal action, there's no real company to file against. However, I'm an engineer. An engineer can't do anything in a month, so I really don't know what they wanted.

The guy didn't really seem all that weird, except he seemed to be unable to speak in anything other than clichés.

They gave an address, but their company wasn't listed there. In fact, there are no companies in the same industry listed there either.

I bought two 50 yard-line tickets Herm's last year and Damon Huard was quarterback..... like $400. I still shiver to think about it.

I can honestly say that I've never been scammed personally, but the company I work for got shafted a few years back. We had printed up various items for a highly reputable cosmetic company located in Cali, (owned by an actress, from a very popular sitcom in the 80's... I'll just keep it at that. lol). The printed goods, however, were ordered by her local "team members" here in Omaha.

Long story short... A total of 9 months or so went by after this company was provided with the printed goods and an invoice. We still didn't receive payment, so I contacted them and was told to contact the owner. Ok, no problem. I was given the number and spoke to her.

She claimed that her local "team members" had quit and she wasn't going to pay the invoice. I stated, "sorry, not my problem" and that they were employed by her company when they ordered the goods. She still refused to acknowledge that she was responsible for the charges. We went back and forth, phone call after phone call for a few more months... finally my boss just said **** it and wrote it off.

Oh well. She's washed up anyway, doesn't have an acting career now, and her business is probably failing. Regardless, she needed to pay her bill.
